This trumpet is a true piece of history from a definitive era of instrument craftsmanship. Originally sold as an unlacquered instrument, it later received a carefully applied lacquer that preserved the integrity of the horn. Thankfully, it was not heavily buffed, so the bell stamping, tube edges, knurling, and overall structural integrity remain crisp and intact.

The horn came to us from the son of the original owner, who brought it in for restorative work after years of sitting dormant. As part of our process, the old lacquer was removed, small bell dents were smoothed out, and consumable materials were replaced following a full ultrasonic and chemical cleaning.

  • Valves/Compression: Excellent compression with standard valve oil (JM/Hetman #2).

  • Wear: Normal play wear on high-traffic areas of the valve block and a small area on the underside of the leadpipe. No signs of red rot or signification degradation. Some evidence of bell flare repair but done well.

  • A beautiful piece of craftsmanship, restored and ready for years of music-making.

Because of the significance and rarity of this instrument it will be only available for trials locally. Thank you for your understanding and please reach out with questions.
